Judges
Tobina Nyman got her first labrador in 1970. During that time it was very difficult to get a puppy in Finland. After Sammy and several other labradors Nyman has had also two golden retrievers. At the moment, she has three labrador bitches and one male.
Even though she has had only labradors and goldens, she has always been interested in all retriever breeds. This is probably why she got interested in field trials and judging, too. Nowadays Nyman has rights to judge field qualification tests, cold game tests and working tests for retrievers. Before career as a judge, she organized several tests on behalf of local retriever clubs. She still is active in Finnish Retriever Association as well as in the field trial judges committee.
She breeds labrador retrievers under the kennel name Chilihunter's, but has only had limited time to compete with her own dogs. She has trained one cold game trial champion, SF MVA SF KVA Sirmakan Jitterburg. Nyman has seen a lot during the last 40 years, and wants to point out, that whatever we do in the future, it should be what's best for the dogs, not what's best for the humans.
Tobina Nyman has judged curlies before: working test in 2012 and Club Championship Test in 2013. She looks forward to being part of this large event too.
Harri Sivén has had retrievers for over 25 years. He hunts a lot with his dogs at the sea and land, from birds to small mammals. He has had one golden retriever and three flat coated retrievers, all other dogs have been labradors. His current dog, two-year-old male, is import from the United States.
Sivén has rights to judge all retriever tests organized in Finland - that includes warm game field trials, too. He has also competed with his dogs in all kinds of retriever tests, so he has a wide perspective to different retriever breeds and their strengths.
Before career as a judge, he organized several tests on behalf of local retriever clubs. At the moment, Sivén is the chairman of the field trial judges committee.
Harri Sivén has judged curlies several times before. He was the judge in the first Club Championship Test in 2007, and after that in several field qualification tests, other cold game tests and working test for retrievers. He has seen a lot of curlies before, and is excited to see even more during the seminar.
